Yurts for Hunting
Camping Yurts make ideal tents for hunting as they are much lighter and easier to set up than a traditional wall tent. Our yurts can also be put up by one person where the wall tent needs two or more people.
A 16ft Yurt makes a great base camp for hunting trips as it is large enough to sleep several people or many more as a place to gather around the wood stove to get out of the weather. Adding a stove to the yurt is as simple as sewing in a fire proof roof jack into the canvas roof cover. Just make sure you keet the stove away from the sidewall.
For snow wet wether conditions, keeping the inside of the yurt clean and dry can be a problem. For this reason we sell round vinyl groundsheets that will keep the musd and water out. You canlay mats and carpet on top of the vinyl and not worry about water seeping through.
Yurt in winter
For winter trips we reccommend using one of our clear polycarbonate roof domes. When it gets too hot in the yurt, you can raise it up a few inches to let out the warm air, but there is enough of a lip on it to now let the weather in!.
Windows are another nice addition to a yurt as it allows you to see what is going on outside. They come with a privacy flap on the outside which you can close at night. The windows normally are made with bugscreen, but a clear plastic “window can be velcro’d over the top of the bug screen.
The yurt comes with a basic flap door for summer. For winter we recommend the zip door or even solid wood doors.

Furnishing your yurt can be as basic or luxurious as you desire. You are only really limited by what you can load into your vehicle or trailer. Once yoy realize how much space you have in a yurt, even the kitchen sink can be thrown in:-) It can be a home from home.
