Setting up the Yurt
Errecting the yurt is a simple and straight forward procedure, but key to setting it up is to first mark out a circle on the ground. This can be done by using a round groundsheet (extra) which sets the perimeter for you, or marking a circle using a couple of tent pegs and rope to scribe a circle on the ground.
The next  step is to open out the two wall sections, connect them together and to the door frame. Make sure the wall height is the same all the way around.

Fit two roof poles to the wall and into the roof ring and then raise the ring and add a third roof pole to create 3 equally spaced poles around the yurt. Tie the tension band to the top of the door frame upright and wrap it all the way around the top of the wall and tie to the other door frame upright. Tighten the tension band untill the poles are snug in the roof wheel and then fit the remaining poles. Finally fit the wall and roof canvas.
